getting started
enabling cheats in the sims 4
are you bored of your gameplay in the sims 4? are your builds looking...vanilla? are you tired of doing the same thing over and over again? cheats are your answer! if you dont already have cheats enabled, heres how to enable them on PC, PS4 and PS5, Mac, laptop, Xbox one, and Xbox series.

if you're playing on a PS4 or PS5, first, you'll want to be in live mode. then, press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 (all four shoulder buttons) at the same time to open the cheats menu. now, type in "testingcheats true" into the cheat bar. you should get a notice, and press "OK".
if you're playing on a laptop or pc, you can be in the build or buy mode or live mode, it doesnt matter. from wherever you are, press Ctrl + Shift + C on your keyboard to open the cheats menu. now, type in "testingcheats true" into the cheat bar. you should get a notice, and press "OK".
if you're playing on a Mac, you can be in the build or buy mode or the live mode, it doesnt matter. from wherever you are, press Command + Shift + C on your keyboard to open the cheats menu. now, type in "testingcheats true" into the cheat bar. you should get a notice, and press "OK".
if you're playing on an Xbox one or Xbox series, first, you'll want to be in live mode. then, press LB + LT + RB + RT (all four shoulder buttons) at the same time to open the cheats menu. now, type in "testingcheats true" into the cheat bar. you should get a notice, and press "OK".
to exit the cheats menu, just type/press the exact same thing you pressed to enter! Now you have cheats enabled, and you're open to so many more options in the game!

build and buy mode cheats
If your builds are getting boring and you're looking for more diversity, here are some cheats that will be good for you.
bb.moveobjects: with this cheat you can now move your objects wherever you want! you no longer have to worry about collisions with other objects.
bb.enablefreebuild: this cheat lets you build wherever you want! now you dont have to buy a lot to build on it, and you can just go to the lot and build. see more information on managing worlds here
bb.freerealestate: you'll have to have bb.enablefreebuild enabled for this, and when you do, you can now build on other lots for completely free, and have infinite money!
bb.showhiddenobjects: you are now open to another category of items that are only available with this cheat, called the debug menu. see more here
bb.showliveeditobjects: this is the same for bb.showhiddenobjects, but the live edit menu consists of items and objects the sims team use to create their worlds, so now you can blend your lots into the world around you with more items!
live mode cheats
here are some cheats that will help make your gameplay fun and easier!
money (amount of money you want): this can give you as much money as you want! for example: "Money 100" will give you 10 simoleons. there is no limit to how many times you do this, but the max amount you can put in at a time is 10 million (10000000) simoleons :D.
some other money cheats: "motherlode": adds 50,000 simoleons. "kaching": adds 1,000 simoleons.
fillmotive motive_energy: this will make your sims energy bar full!
sims.add_buff buff_Happy: this will make your sim happy! you can also do this by holding shift and clicking on the desired sim, then "cheat need" and "make happy". this will automatically fill all your sims needs, making it easier to handle lots of sims when you're doing something important in game!
stats.set_skill_level Major_skill #: this is the template to make your sims skill level higher in anything you want! for example, if you wanted your sims handiness level to 5, you would type: "stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness 5" into the cheats menu. the max level is 10! :D

building hacks
how to raise and lower objects
when you click an object and drag it to a surface, it might not clip to the surface. so if you want to raise an object, you can use the 9 key to raise, and the 0 key to lower. now, pressing alt, you can move your object wherever you want on the surface.
how to size up objects and size down objects
if something is too big or small for your liking, you can use the left bracket key to size it down or the right bracket key to size your object up! ( [ and ] ).
sims 3 camera and rotating objects
to rotate objects in the build and buy mode, you can either press the comma and period key or use your mouse depending on which camera you are using.

if you are on the sims 4 camera, i HIGHLY recommend switching to the sims 3 camera. you can do this buy changing your settings either while in live/build and buy mode, or in the game options. if you don't want to go into game options, there will be a small camera icon at the top right of the screen, and click there, you will have a few different options for the camera. if you click on "sims 3 camera", you can now have a TON of different angles and way more freedom with your camera!
once you have the sims 3 camera activated, you can grab the object you want freely rotated and hold down on your mouse, then you can drag your object around until you have it rotated where youd like! sadly, this only works on mac, laptop, and pc, so you dont have these options on console.
with the sims 3 camera mode, you can also use the right panel on your mouse to rotate the camera up, down, left, and right. bascially, you have endless angles!
